Irene M. Strayer

Irene M. Strayer, 53, of Delphos, was reunited peacefully with her father, brother, and grandchildren on Sunday, March 8, 2020, surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

She was born October 28, 1966, in Lima to Gale and Margaret (Ladd) Strayer, her father preceded her in death and her mother survives in Delphos.

She is survived by five daughters, Krista (Mike) Hill of Van Wert, Keri Pavel of Van Wert, Kara (Elliot) Tempel of Payne, Kershin (Josh) Leiter of NC, and Kelsey Pavel of Van Wert; five Brothers, Russel Strayer of Delphos, Kevin Strayer of Delphos, Wesley (Kate) Strayer of Ft. Jennings, Brian (Amy) Strayer of Delphos, and David (Kathy) Strayer of Delphos; three sisters, Linda Cook of Delphos, Audrey (Brian) Courtney of Wauseon, and Rita (David) Heitmeyer of Leipsic; and nine grandchildren, Kamden, Leigha, Kenna, Kenten, and Kohen Hill, Ellyonna, Braylee, and Kraeton Tempel, and Tatum Leiter; and her campanion, William “Lump” Spoor IV. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ryleigh Hill; three stillborn grandchildren, and a brother, Dean Strayer.

Irene had worked at the Holiday Inn Express in the laundry department for eight years and she had also worked at Klostermans Pizza for 16 years. She enjoyed shopping, and driving around with her family. She also enjoyed the outdoors especially going to the beach, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is finally getting to spend time with her loved ones and hold her grandbabies in heaven.

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 13, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 10:00 until the time of service at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
