Isabella L Watkins

Isabella L. Watkins, 91, of Elida, formerly of Rushmore, OH, passed away at 11:45 a.m., on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was born on July 19, 1929, in Delphos, OH, to Charles and Mary Athalene (Ashby) Wells. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Edwin E. Watkins. He preceded her in death on September 25, 2011.

Isabella is survived by her sons, Michael (Barb) Watkins, of Elida, OH, and Patrick A. (Donna) Watkins, of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Christopher (Susan) Watkins of Lewis Center, OH, Jeremy (Joanna) Watkins, Charlotte, TN, and Shannon (Brian) Pugh, Lima, OH; five great-grandchildren; her brother, Clifford Wells; and two sisters, Mary Winhover and Carol Buettner, all three of Delphos.

Isabella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Teresa Watkins; her daughter-in-law, Joyce Watkins; two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law.

Isabella was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School, Class of 1947. She retired from Excello/Airfoil Textron after many years of service and at Montgomery Ward following retirement. She volunteered over 5,000 hours of her time at Lima Memorial Hospital. Isabella was a member of Ottawa River Church of God in Rimer, OH where she was the organist. She also played piano for the Rushmore Methodist Church. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, making crafts, jigsaw puzzles and reading. She was a very devoted Cincinnati Reds fan.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, OH. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos, OH. Visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
