James Hetrick, 81, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born July 19, 1943, in Lima, OH to Oscar and Louise (Schumaker) Hetrick. They both preceded him in death. James was united in marriage to Dianna Hammons on July 25, 1964. She survives in Delphos.
James is survived by sons, Brad (Keri) Hetrick of Delphos and Gary (Diann) Hetrick of Cincinnati; daughters, Jill (Don) Feathers of Tampa and Peggy (Scott) Minnig of Wapak; sister, Nancy (Bill) Sprang; 11 grandchildren, Tanner, Tyler, Andrew, Emily, Alexander, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Kennedy, Casey, Brooke, and Graham.
James was preceded in death by brothers, Tom and Bob Hetrick; and sister, Betty Triplett.
James worked as a toolmaker at DANA. He was a member of the Delphos Christian Union Church, Eagles Aerie #471, Delphos Civil Service Board, and was the treasurer of the VAW #1765 for many years. James enjoyed playing Blackjack, boating on the lake, and watching his grandkids participate in sporting events. He was an avid Notre Dame fan.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Rev. Gary Fish, officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-6 pm on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
