Jeannette DeWitt

Jeannette DeWitt, 76, of Delphos passed away on October 16, 2023, at her home.  She was born on October 6, 1947, to Richard and Patricia (Maxwell) Martin.  Both preceded her in death.  On January 28, 1967, she was united in marriage to Jack DeWitt who survives in Delphos. 

Jeannette is also survived by her children, Jay (Nancy) DeWitt and Jennifer (Mike) Stemen both of Delphos; brothers, Terry (Terry) Martin of Payne, Joe (Sally) Martin of Delphos, Jim Martin of Delphos, and Davey (Chris) Maxwell of Elida; sisters, Sue Wirwille of St. Mary’s and Kim (Mike) Eilerman of Elida; grandchildren, Jason DeWitt, Andrew (Val) DeWitt, Anthony DeWitt, and Gunnar Stemen; and great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Leo DeWitt. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dennis Martin.

Jeannette was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School.  She loved crafts and shopping especially when she could spend Jack’s money!  Her favorite times were spent camping and boating all over the state of Ohio, and, especially, spending time with her grandkids.  The family would like to thank Bridget and Diane. 

A funeral service will be held at First Assembly of God Church in Delphos on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 3:00 pm.  Visitation will be Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Harter and Schier Funeral Home and an hour prior to services at the church. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
