Jeremy Whitaker, 41, of Delphos, passed away on January 28, 2022. He was born February 7, 1980, in Lima, OH, to George and Bobbi Whitaker-Roose. They survive in Russells Point, OH. He was united in marriage to Daphne Bybee. She survives in Delphos.
Jeremy is survived by his children, Anthony Whitaker, James Whitaker, and Megan Whitaker; brothers, Joshua and Jordan Whitaker; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Jane Whitaker and Roy and Phyllis Roose.
Jeremy was a member of the Christian Union Church. He attended school at Indian Lake where he played soccer and football. He was a member of the Presidential Academic Society. He also attended Delphos Jefferson and Vantage Vocational where he studied machining. He had worked as a precision machinist in Ottoville. He was an avid fisherman and spent hours fishing with family and friends alike. He also loved camping and always combined his love of fishing with camping whenever possible. He was an extremely talented trumpet and guitar player with a natural ability to play anything by ear. He was always there to lend a hand if someone needed help with carpentry and other home repairs which he learned from a young age working beside his grandpa. He could fix anything mechanical from cars to computers. His absence will be felt and our love for him will endure.
A Graveside Service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
