Jimmie C. Stockwell, 89, of Delphos, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024, at his residence. He was born January 26, 1935, in Luckey, OH, to James E. and Virginia M. (Rife) Stockwell. They both preceded him in death. On March 22, 1954, he was united in marriage to Jeannette Allemeier. They celebrated 70 years together. She survives in Delphos.
Jimmie is survived by children, Kimberly (Derek) Shivley, Mark Stockwell, Lisa (Kirk) Looser, and Jeff (Julane) Stockwell all of Delphos; grandchildren, Ryan (Jess) Carder, Lindsey (Jon) Staples, Derek Shivley, Karissa (Juston Walker) Stockwell, Dustin (Holly) Looser, Kylee (Joe) Harrmann, Courtney (Andrew Porter) Looser, Rileigh (Alex) Young, Jace (Nicole Williams) Stockwell; great-grandchildren, Caden, Kyla, Kellen, Colbie, Tyson, Arriyah, Kaizen, Ahnyx, Grady, Maryn, Maizee, Avery, Daks, Gabe, Aceyn, and Ruby; step-great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Jace Rahrig and Kendra and Glenn Walker; and brother, Jeff (Connie) Stockwell of Cairo, GA.
Jimmie was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry and George Stockwell; and grandson, Collin James Stockwell.
Jimmie was a 1952 graduate of Lima Central High School and served in the US Army. He was a past member of the Delphos Eagles and the Lima Elks and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Jefferson Booster Club. Jimmie was Purchase Manager for Warner & Swasey in Lima and White New Idea Farm Equipment in Coldwater. He won the OHSAA Award from Delphos Jefferson for Service and was a founder of the Optimist Club and helped to bring Junior Achievement to Delphos. Jimmie coached the Vikings Midget Football team for 49 years. He received the Van Wert Voice Honorary Certificate for his dedication to coaching/teaching the kids of Delphos and the 2013 Delphos City Schools Halls of Honor. Jimmie was the co-chair of the Delphos City Schools PTO Carnival and was part of the founding group for the Wildcat Special which just celebrated 50 years. He enjoyed reading and was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Boston Celtics. Jimmie loved serving his community, spending time with his family, especially attending all of his grand and great-grandchildren’s sporting events.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
