John Williams Jr, 91, of Delphos, passed away on December 19, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in Delphos on November 14, 1932, to John A. and Helen (Backus) Williams Sr. They both preceded him in death.  On July 11, 1953, he married Earline A. Osting who preceded him in death on April 27, 2022.

He is survived by his sons, Jim (Deanna) Williams of Delphos, and Dan (Sue) Williams of Ottoville; sister; Mary Lou (Keith) Harmon of Delphos; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.       

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Engle; brothers, Donald and Frank (Billie) Williams; and sister, Virginia (Phil) Kuhn.

John was a graduate of Delphos St. Johns High School and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.  He was also a member of the VFW Post #3035, American Legion #268, AMVETS #698 and Eagles Aerie #471. He was employed at Excello in maintenance for 38 years and was a self employed carpenter for 65 yrs. He loved working on antique gasoline engines and cars. He and Earline enjoyed many winters in Key West and Naples Florida.                                              

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Hunyor will officiate.  Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
