Joyce May Davis

Joyce May Davis, 69, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Van Wert Manor. She was born June 23, 1955, in Lima, OH, to Charles W. and Mary Violet (Mox) Sellers. They both preceded her in death.  

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Barbie (Chris) Calvelage of Van Wert, OH; sons, Brian (Jodi) Sellers of Delphos, OH, and Billy (Leann) Davis of Van Wert, OH; grandchildren: Christopher (Ashley) Calvelage, Kirtis Calvelage, R.J. Calvelage, Brandi (Skyler) Lewis, Brandon (Emma) Calvelage, Rodney (Erica) Calvelage, Brook (Pablo) Calvelage, Alex (Courtney) Calvelage, Brittany (Jon) Straley, Brayden (Chloe) Sellers, Lane (Kenzie) Bennett, Alonnah Sellers, and Braxton Kline; great-grandchildren: Heath and Rowan Calvelage, Early and Holsten Calvelage, Hadleigh Calvelage, Karlin Calvelage, Jaxon & Aubree Straley and Beckett Sellers; brothers: Terry (Diane) Sellers of Versailles, OH, Ed (Karen) Sellers of Ottoville, OH, Bill (Tina) Sellers of Middle Point, OH, David (Amy) Sellers of Convoy, OH, and Mike Sellers of Delphos, OH; half-sister, Deveria (Brad) Dake of Lima, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce graduated in 1973 from Delphos Jefferson High School. She previously worked at Conrad’s Truck Stop and retired from Cooper Farms in Van Wert, OH. Joyce loved the Ohio State Buckeyes and watching wrestling on TV with her grandson. Joyce was a member of The Forge Church in Van Wert. She loved playing bingo and in her younger years she enjoyed bowling. Joyce enjoyed reading, especially her Bible. She was a strong woman of faith and enjoyed worshipping the Lord with her church family. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home with a Funeral Service held immediately after at 6 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Frank Howard. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
