Kenneth Korte

Kenneth F. “Heiny” Korte, 65, passed away on Tuesday, February 09, 2021, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.  He was born to Richard A. and Mary Ann “Boots” (Knippen) Korte on April 20, 1955.  They preceded him in death.  On July 23, 2011, he was united in marriage to Linda Dickens on the racetrack in Norwalk.  She survives in Delphos.

Kenny is also survived by brothers and sisters, Judy (Ray) Cross, Mike “Fred” (Kim) Korte, Tony “Jones” (Wendy) Korte, Sue Sumrell, Jo (Ralph) Koester, Kate (Wes) Strayer, Dort (Roger) Wehri, Becky Korte, Dan Korte, Sherry Korte and Kenny Hughes, and special sister-in-law, Sheila (Korte) (Doug) Metzger.  Kenny was also very loved by all of his nieces and nephews including great and great-great. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard “Sam” Korte, Gary Korte, and Joseph Korte; and sister, Kathleen Korte.

Kenny was a 1973 graduate of Ft. Jennings High School.  He worked at Lima Engine Plant and Siefker Sawmill.  He was a big drag racing fan attending races for over 35 years.  He was an intregal part of running the Happy Day Car Cruise-ins which he did for six years.  He also loved children and whenever he saw one, he would give them a dollar.  Kenny also had a great love for his cats.  He will be remembered for many things especially his “ meep meep.” 

Funeral Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. Visitation will be held that same day from 2:00-5:00 p.m.  Burial will be at a later date.  Until we meet again “meep meep.”

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Kenny’s funeral expenses.  The family asks that masks be worn at the funeral home.
