Leona V. Adams, 98, of Grover Hill, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born October 23, 1924, in Delphos, OH, to George and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Martin, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Cross, who preceded her in death in 1954. She married Billy M. Adams on July 11, 1959. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2017.

She is survived by her children with Bill Cross, a son, Michael (Joyce) Cross of Van Wert and Donna (Jerry) Wannemacher of Ottoville; five grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren, and former daughter-in-law, Judy Sholl.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Philip P. Cross; a brother, Albert Martin; and eight sisters, Viola Studenka, Frances Kroeger, Eleanora Grothouse, Catherine Miller, Marie Etzkorn, Irene Kill, Jane Young, and Helen Cross.

Leona worked at DWG Cigar Factory in Delphos. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, as well as, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church Altar Rosary Society in Ottoville.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father George Mahas will officiate. Burial to follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Delphos. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Cemetery or the Ottoville Church Repair Fund.
