Leonard Jarman Obituary

Leonard E. Jarman, 80, of Delphos, passed away on August 13, 2024, at Cridersville Healthcare Center.  He was born on April 10, 1944, in Allen County to Edgar and Hazel Jarman.  Both preceded him in death.  On March 30, 1968, he was united in marriage to Shirley Hundley who died on April 9, 2022.                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

Leonard is survived by a son Roy Jarman of Delphos; a daughter, Priscilla (Mark) Carter of Harrod; six grandchildren, Christian, Carter, and Caleb Jarman, and Kory, Kacy, and Kylee Carter; and three great-grandchildren.                       

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Jarman, Kenneth Jarman, and a sister, Virginia Halliwill.                                                                                   

Leonard served in the United States Navy stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War.  He retired from Ford after 34 years as a millwright.  He was employed by the Delphos Senior Citizens Center, retiring after 12 years of service.  He was a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie # 471, the Delphos VFW post 3035.

He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and riding on his Goldwing motorcycle.  Leonard always enjoyed a good hard day’s work.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Walnut Grove Cemetery.  Pastor Jim Hernandez will officiate.  There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to Allen County Humane Society.
