Lois Luersman Obituary

Lois C. Luersman, 75, of Landeck, passed away on Thursday, August, 30, 2018, at Vancrest Healthcare Center. She was born April 11, 1943, in Spencerville to Hilary and Martha (Gengler) Trentman. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Carl J. Luersman on October 20, 1962, he survives in Landeck.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Ken) Stachowski of Springboro, Ohio, Sharon (Charles) Krietemeyer of Fort Jennings, and Ann Nagel of Delphos; son, Paul (Abbe) Luersman of Wassenaar, Netherlands; brothers, Merlin (Dorothy) Trentman of Landeck, Tom T. (Jane) Trentman of Delphos, and Robert F. (Suzanne) Trentman of Delphos; sisters,  Noreen Murphy of Lancaster, Ohio, Mary Loraditch of Akron, Ohio, and Rose Etgen of Lakeland, Florida; 10 grandchildren; Kenny (Hannah), Kevin, Dominic, Katherine Stachowski, Matthew (Kali), and Adam Krietemeyer, Dalton, Garrett, and Wyatt Nagel, and Emma Luersman; and four great-grandchildren; Grayson, Roman, and Rylee Stachowski and Cole Krietemeyer.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Nickols; sister-in-law, Pat Trentman; and brothers-in-law, Paul Murphy, Andy Loraditch, and Norman Etgen.

Lois was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck, where she was a communion distributor and made baptismal bibs for many years. She was also a past member of the Altar Rosary Society. She had worked at Landeck Elevator and E. Lee Construction doing book keeping, she was also a homemaker and a seamstress. Lois enjoyed gardening and also crocheting, where she made over 1000 baby hats for neonatal babies at many area hospitals.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, September 3, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. Father Scott Perry will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home with a parish wake to begin at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. David Powell and his staff and St. Rita’s Medical Center for all their care and support.
