Lois W. Schlatman, 80, of Delphos, passed away with her loving family by her side on Thursday December 17, 2020, at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. She was a resident at Delphos Van Crest for the past 8 1/2 years. She was born March 11, 1940, in Delphos, to George E. and Beulah W. (Davis) Schabbing. On August 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Orland D. Schlatman, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. After 62 years of marriage, God called Orland home, and now, He has called Lois home, reunited again.
Her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very important to her, they include, daughter, Lynda (Schabbing) Reynolds-Fair; son-in-law, James L. Fair; former son-in-law, Nick Reynolds; daughter, Cheryl A. (Schlatman) Tarango; son-in-law, Virgil Tarango; former son-in-law, Gerald Kohorst; daughter, Sally Jo (Schlatman) Riggs, deceased; son-in-law, George Riggs, deceased; son, David O. Schlatman; former daughter-in-law, Mary (Adams) Schlatman-Combs; daughter-in-law, Ginny (Seekings) Schlatman, deceased; son, Charles H. Schlatman; brother John S. Davis (Barb) and sister, Shirley (Milton) Parsons, sisters in law Opal Jean (Schlatman) Thiel, Opal (Schlatman) (John) Harper, Sue (Watkins) (Orbie) Schlatman. She is also survived by a dear close friend, Alice Landwehr of Ft. Jennings.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, George E Schabbing II and Joseph Schabbing, sisters, Mary Katherine Davis and Margaret (Davis) Keeper, and by one great grandson, Austin Andrew Adams, and by many sisters and brothers in law.
Lois is also survived by her grandchildren, Nick and Gina (Moorman) Reynolds, Jason and Jaymee (Fair) Sevitz both of Lima, Mike Adams and Chrissy Wiltshire, Tim Schlatman, David and Mandy (Lupein) Schlatman all of Van Wert, Gerald Andrew Kohorst of Lima and Amber Dawn Riggs of Washington; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and raised five children the “old school” way. She loved her family and helped when ever needed. She raised her children to believe in “Faith-Family-Friends” in that order. She will be missed every day in some way.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Harter and Schier Funeral home. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020 at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Ft. Jennings.
