Margaret Stemen

Margaret Stemen, 92, of Elida, went home with the Lord on Thursday, August 17, 2023. She was born August 3, 1931, to Reuben and Leah (Good) Brunk.  Both preceded her in death.  On November 16, 1952, she was united in marriage to Warren L. Stemen.  He preceded her in death on February 1, 2022. 

Margaret is survived by her children, Debra (Michael) Crites, Carol Stemen, and Jerry (Melissa) Stemen all of Elida, Robert (Karen) Stemen of Summerfield, NC, and Gene (Jennifer) Stemen of Delphos; grandchildren: Nick, Anthony, and Gary Crites; Ryan and Shaun Stemen; Amanda Townsend, Danielle, Chantal, Natalie Stemen; and Brooke, Sydney, Taylor, Luke and Logan Stemen; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was a member of Pike Mennonite Church.   She was a prayer warrior and was on the prayer chain at WTLW Channel 44 in Lima.  She loved to read especially the Bible.  Margaret loved to work in her flower beds and sing.  She enjoyed walks and loved traveling and the beach.  Her grandchildren loved her cookies, especially the raisin filled ones, but Margaret enjoyed ice cream as her favorite treat. 

A funeral service will be held at Pike Mennonite Church in Elida on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 3:30 p.m.  Pastors Matthew Cordella and Darwin Hartman will officiate.  Burial will follow in Pike Mennonite Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 until the time of the service.
