Margaret “Peggy” Long, 92, of Delphos, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born on June 21, 1930, in Hicksville, OH, to Emanuel and Margaret (Bruner) Street. They preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Donald W. Long. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1999.
Peggy is survived by sons, Vondale “Bub” (Miss Bobbie) Long of Drummonds, TN, Randy (Diana) Long of Ft. Wayne, and Doug (Karen) Long of Delphos; daughters, Linda Heckert of Van Wert, Debbie Jessee, and Brenda (Greg) Hesseling both of Middle Point; 33 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Roberta Durre of Payne.
Peg was also preceded in death by her daughters, Dolina “Dolly” Pinnow, Darlene Perry, and Medina Long; great-granddaughters, Autumn Sky Etgen and Everleigh Sue Hesseling; brothers, John and Harry Street; sisters, Betty Fellers Landrie and Nancy Foltz; daughter-in-law, Linda Long; and son-in-law, Ralph Jessee.
Peg was a former co-owner of Don and Peg’s Kitchen, The Equity in Delphos, and The Equity in Payne. She worked on the election board of Van Wert County, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Middle Point Fire Dept. and the AMVETS Auxiliary in Middle Point. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and baking cookies and pies. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to camp, play Bingo and put together puzzles.
Funeral services will be held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at King Cemetery. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 on Friday, August 5, 2022, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
