Marna K. Clevenger, of Gomer, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born in Delphos, to Lester and Beulah (Patton) Renner. They both preceded her in death.
Marna is survived by sons, Rod (Barb) Clevenger of Gomer, Martin (Rhonda) Clevenger of Vendedocia, and James (Cindy) Clevenger of Gomer; half brother, Donald (Sharon) Crites of FL; half sister, Debbie Fetzer; seven grandchildren, Sara, Dustin, Danielle, Nicholas, Austin, Michelle, and Andrew; thirteen great-grandchildren, Joey, Jerome (Veb), Saniya, Vincent, Myles, Weston, Layne, Everly, Maren, Latham, Charlie, Grayson, and Asher; significant other of 23 years, Dan Hickman, of Cridersville, and many nieces and nephews.
Marna was preceded in death by her mother, step-father, Rex Crites; her father, her step-mother, Dorothy Renner; grandparents, John and Ethel Patton and Joseph and Anna Renner; son, Michael Lee Clevenger; sister and brother-in-law, Carol (Dale) Renner, sister, Glenna Renner; half-sister, Marna Blackburn; half-brothers, David Crites and Larry Renner, and her former husband, Don Clevenger.
Marna was a bus driver for Elida Schools for 30 yrs. She had also worked for Master Maintenance at the Lima Refinery. She graduated from Gomer High School in 1953, and was a member of the Gomer Congregational Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing softball; having won trophies for both. She was invited to try out for the semi-pro softball team in Fort Wayne, and was offered a contract, but ultimately turned it down due to family. She was also an avid Cleveland Guardians fan.
Graveside Services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Pike Run Cemetery in Gomer. Pastor Maurice Dunne will officiate.
