Martha R. Ardner

Martha Ardner, 96, of Delphos, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024, at The Meadows of Delphos. She was born October 13, 1927, in Lima, OH, to Albert and Mary (Schimmoeller) Korte. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Arnold Ardner, Sr. on May 25, 1946. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1973.

Martha is survived by son, Donald Ardner;; grandchildren, Shawn (Jennifer), Nolan (Carey), Donny Jr. (Kallie), and Kristin (Frank) Ardner; and many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by sons, Arnold Jr. and John Ardner; infant son, Thomas Ardner; daughter, Patricia Ardner, infant daughter, Barbara Ardner; brother and sister-in-law, Norbert and Ruth Korte; sister, Alberta Miller; and daughter-in-law, Karen Ardner Murray.

Martha worked at St. John’s Rectory for 41 years. She had also worked at the cigar factory and Hohsapple Hatchery. She was a member of CL of C and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Martha volunteered at the Interfaith Thrift Shop and loved to play Bingo. She was very proud of the fact that she lived at  home on her own at the age of 96.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
