Mary (Sterling) Rigdon Obituary

Mary Rigdon, 91, of Venedocia, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her residence. Mary was born at home in Marbletown, OH on April 8, 1933, to Charles Wesley and Jessie Bell (Follas) Sterling. They both preceded her death. On August 25, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edward Rigdon. He preceded in death on March 30, 2023.


Mary is survived by her children, Sandra Rigdon and Mark Rigdon both of Venedocia, and Jim (Jennifer) Rigdon of Van Wert; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Lonnie Sterling and Nick (Phyllis) Sterling both of Delphos.


Mary was preceded in death by her daughter Patty; son, Ray; an infant son; granddaughter, Mary Anna; brothers, Virgil, Frank, Louis, Lester, George, and Ray; and daughter-in-law, Tracy Rigdon.


Mary was a homemaker and was a member of the Delphos Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed crocheting and going to garage sales with her friends.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Delphos Wesleyan Church, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home,.
