Mary K Werner, 92, of Clermont, Florida, formerly of Delphos, passed away peacefully from a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at her residence in Florida. She was born in Oklahoma on Aug. 1, 1927, to Roy and Leona Spencer. On June 11, 1952 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jack E Werner; he preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 2012.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Leann (Michael) Werner-Osborn of Clermont, FL and four grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott E. Werner; sisters, Aline Lanza, Martina Babec, Jeannetta Thomason and Nona Burkett and brothers, Roy and Billy Spencer.
Mary was a very active member of St Peters Lutheran church in Delphos. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts, enjoyed playing Bridge and truly loved the outdoors. She was an avid reader and until recently she also enjoyed taking daily walks. Mary was known for her infectious smile. She was a homemaker. She spent her life supporting her family, especially her husband Jack while he was in the Army and co-owner of the New Delphos Manufacturing Company.
Funeral services will be on Friday, March 20, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral home. Vicar Carol Pretorius will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, March 20, 2020, from 10-11 a.m.. Memorial Contributions shall go to Cornerstone Hospice Foundation: 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
