Mary Margaret Young, 51, of Ohio City passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Promedica Hospital in Toledo.  She was born April 4, 1970, in Lima to Francis and Carolyn (Schwinnen) Meyer.  Her father preceded her in death, and her mother survives in Spencerville.  On August 5, 1988, she was united in marriage to Glen Young who survives in Ohio City.

Other survivors include her son, Johnathan (Katie) Young of Van Wert; sisters, Jennifer (Chad) Prine,  and Sarah (Ron) Miller, all of Spencerville; brothers, Frank (Samantha) Meyer of Elida, and David (Mandi) Meyer of Spencerville; and her grandchildren, Payton, Mason, Quinn, and Charley; and an aunt, Judy Schwinnen.

 She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Quinn Young; a brother-in-law, Brendan Poling, her grandparents, Walter and Margaret “Maggie” (Vondran) Schwinnen, and Leonard and Elizabeth “Libby” (Klaus) Meyer, and a nephew, Nicholas Poling.

Mary graduated from Lima Technical College as a Registered Nurse.    She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Spencerville, and the Compassionate Friends Support Group. Mary loved being a grandma.   She also loved to camp and fish along with shopping, crocheting, and cooking. 

Funeral services will be held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home on Monday, March 28, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at a later date.  Visitation will be held from 10:00-2:00 p.m. on that same day.
