Melinda Samons, 52, of Delphos, passed away on May 26, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born March 9, 1971, in Lima, OH, to Robert and Janet (Arbogast) Kraft. They both preceded her in death. On October 19, 1991, she was united in marriage to James Samons. Although legally separate, they still remained friends. He survives in Lima.

Melinda is survived by sons, Quentin and Austin Samons; daughters, Samantha Kraft and Sara Samons;  brother, Greg (Brenda Nuesmeyer) Kraft; two grandchildren, Oliver Samons and Norman Hurley; nieces, Abby Marie Kraft and Courtney Lewis Kraft; and significant other, Ralph Perry.

Melinda was a homemaker. She was a member of Delphos Wesleyan Church. Melinda was an honor student in high school and played clarinet in the band. She loved listening to music, being with her family, and watching movies. Melinda was a very laid-back person and enjoyed coloring, art, and going for walks.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Knoderer will officiate.   Visitation will be held from 10:00-2:00 that same day at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
