Melvin L. Parsons

Melvin L. Parsons, 65, of Spencerville, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. He was born January 29, 1961, in Lima, OH, to Melvin J. and Loretta (Rentfro) Parsons. His father survives in Spencerville, OH and his mother preceded him in death in 2014. Melvin was united in marriage to Debra Baker on September 19, 1980. They were married for 45 years. She survives in Spencerville.

Melvin is survived by his children, Amy (Scott) Gray of Celina, Melvin Wayne (Kari) Parsons of Spencerville, and Tonya (Gary) Kohler of Middle Point; 15 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild, Nova.

Melvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Allen Parsons and Mark Wayne Parsons; and sister, Barbara Kent.

Melvin worked for Suever Stone Quarry for 13 years. He loved to polish rocks, fish, and work on cars. Most important to Melvin was his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
