Miriam Heatwole Obituary

Miriam E. Heatwole, 93, went to be with Jesus on March 5, 2021. She passed away peacefully in Lima at The Greens at Lima Convalescent Home.

Miriam was born November 22, 1927, in Lima, Ohio, to Reuben and Leah Brunk. On August 5, 1948, she married Vernon W. Heatwole, who preceded her in death.

Miriam was a wonderful wife and mother, who loved her flower gardening, crossword puzzles, and reading the Bible. She attended Lima Community Church.  She was a prayer warrior for her children and grandchildren, who loved her to pieces!

Miriam was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sisters, Lillian Amstutz, Gladys Cressman, and Gertrude Spurlock; her brother, Lawrence Brunk, and her granddaughter, Shannon Whitt.

She is survived by her five children, Lavonne (Jerry) Simpson of New Port Richey, Florida, Joan (John) Gerig of Medford, Oregon, Shirley (Sam) Whitt of Lima, Michael (Deb) Heatwole of Lima, and Jan (Dick) Warrington of Columbus Grove, as well as her brother, Kenneth (Twila) Brunk of Virginia, and her sister, Margaret (Warren) Stemen of Elida, nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Due to the pandemic, there was no visitation. A private family service was held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Jackie Brown. Burial followed at Pike Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to WTLW TV 44.

Arrangements were handled by Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, Ohio.
