Nelson Fry Obituary

Nelson E. Fry, 90, of Delphos, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Delphos.

He was born January 11, 1928, in Canton, Ohio to James and Mary A. (Snyder) Fry. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Opal N. Stahl on September 24, 1946; she preceded him in death on April 16, 2017.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie (Don) Brandyberry of Newport News, VA and Cathy Kelly (Sybert) of Delphos; four grandchildren, Kim Adams of Madison, AL, Jenna (Mike) Payne of Yorktown, VA, Amy Stalbosky of Panama City Beach, FL, and Chery Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta, OH; five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Matthew Adams of Madison, AL, Justyn Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta, OH, Savannah and Michael Payne of Yorktown, VA; and a sister-in-law, Coral Cocke.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his six brothers, Benny, Floyd, Jimmy, Harold, Eddie, and Clarence Fry; his three sisters, Laura Fry, Mary Miller, and Esther Rocovitz; son-in-law, Larry Sybert; and grandson-in-law, Nate Adams.

He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill and the Christian Union Church in Delphos. His passion in life was buying, selling, and restoring cars. He also loved to buy and sell boats and also loved to fish. Nelson worked as a car sales manager for Hanshumaker for 40 years. He was a born salesman.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. with viewing one hour prior at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill, Ohio. Reverend Carol Retcher will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or the Christian Union Church in Delphos.
