Olga Brown Obituary

Olga (Jacecko) Brown, 92, of Chicago, IL, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 16, 2020. She was born April 21, 1928, to Dimitri and Anna (Dyda) Jacecko.  She was married to the love of her life, Eldin for 45 years. He understood her love of fashion and diamonds.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Ronald) Cooper; grandchildren, Theresa (Thomas) Davis, Gary (Michelle) Cooper, Lisa (Richard) Wawrzyniak; her great grandchildren: Nicole (John) DiGiacomo, Danielle Cooper, Kayle (Stephen) Flint, Christina (Kyle) Kantor, Amanda Rogers, and Anna Davis, Carly Cooper, Anya Cooper; her great-great-grandchildren: Cameron Flint, Haylee Rogers, Aiden and Oliver Kantor, Octavia Roger, and her pupka, Declan DiGiacomo, that she enjoyed helping Theresa babysit; her sister, Julie (Thomas) Dorencz; her nieces and nephews: Ken (Janet) Dorencz, Lynette (Mark) Nutter, Mark (Melissa) Dorencz, Thomas (Karen) Dorencz; she also had many great-nieces and nephews, one great-great-nephew; Eldin’s children: Georgeana (Stan) Strayer, Marsha Frankenhose, Glenna Day, and Emerson Brown. She really loved the flowers Emerson sent her for special occasions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Julie Darence.

Eldin and Olga’s life together was one filled with love and happiness. To quote Olga, Eldin loved to spoil her. She was a loving kind soul who treasured her cats, Precious and Peaches, and spending time with those she loved. She enjoyed getting dressed up and going to lunch with friends and listening to her husband play harmonica in his bluegrass band.  Olga loved collecting precious moments and porcelain baby dolls, she wanted a strawberry shake with every meal, and couldn’t stop smiling after getting flowers from Emerson, her stepson. Olga loved to dance. Her dancing partner for the last few years was Tom Davis. She bragged about dancing with him at weddings and the bar. Olga loved fashion and going to the mall.  She wanted to walk around for hours looking at all the pretty jewelry and the newest purple purses (even if she had more than enough at home!).  It was important to her to look her best, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t understand the importance of comfort.  She has requested to spend eternity in her favorite slippers watching over her loved ones in comfort. She would tell anyone who would listen all about her family and how proud she was of their many accomplishments.  In her final days she enjoyed helping “babysit” her great-great grandson Declan who she affectionately called her “Pupka,” the polish word for doll.
