Phillip M. Epstein, 81, of Ft. Wayne, IN, formerly of Ft. Jennings, OH, passed away September 15, 2024, at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne. He was born January 20, 1943, in Beverly Shores, IN to Morton and Camille K. (Kavals) Epstein. They preceded him in death. Phil was united in marriage to Marsha on Aug 25, 2000. She survives in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Phil is also survived by son, Anthony “Tony” J. Clementz of Ft. Wayne, IN; and two grandchildren, Alexander J. Epstein and Camden T. Epstein both of Edmonds, WA, a Mother-in law, Virginia M. Kimmet of Ottoville, 3 brother-in-laws, 1 sister-in law, and nieces and nephews.
Phil was preceded in death by a sister, Janice C. Epstein, and Father-in-law, Donald W. Kimmet.
Phil was President of NH3 Team starting in 1995 until 2018. He attended Immaculate Conception Church. Phil was past member of Delphos Fire Department for ten years, a member with the USS Constellation Organization for 25 years, and the American Legion for five years. He served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy, and served for eight years..
Phil loved to travel whether visiting family and friends afar or just seeing the national monuments, parks, coastlines, mountains, and countryside. Most of all, he enjoyed getting together with family and old friends to enjoy the moment and laugh. Phil loved meeting new people and left them with a smile. Phil just completed his 50th state, Alaska, in August and experienced a beautiful countryside, spent time with long time friends who are family, meeting new people, laughing, dancing, and eating. He liked boating, swimming, seeing movies/shows, tinkering in the garage and building new gadgets to make chores simpler, taking care of his lawn, and chatting/helping neighbors.
Phil’s Funeral Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 1-4 pm and 5-6:30 pm on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
