Rebekah “Becky” D. Mericle, 73, of Delphos, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Van Crest of Delphos. Becky was born on June 19, 1952, in Lima, Ohio, to Richard “Cotton” and Florence (Baer) Kohorst, who have both preceded her in death.
On October 3, 1993, Becky married the love of her life, Tim Mericle. Together, they shared many wonderful years filled with laughter, adventures, and unwavering devotion before his passing in 2012.
Becky was a loving mother to her two children, Jamie Joseph of Delphos and Chad (Angie) Joseph of Ft. Jennings. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren—Evan (Onyx) Joseph and Aubrey (Mikel Hale) Joseph—who she adored deeply and never missed a moment to cheer on, support, or simply spend time with. Her family was truly the center of her world.
She is also survived by her brothers Delmer and Darrell Kohorst; sisters Edy Carder and Judy Hammons; sisters-in-law Dorthy Kohorst and Glenda Kohorst; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and members of her church family. She was preceded in death by her brothers Dick and Carl Kohorst; sisters-in-law Sue Kohorst; and brothers-in-law Tom Carder and Jim Hammons.
Becky was a devoted member of Delphos Wesleyan Church, where her faith and kindness touched many. She was also a proud life member of VFW Post 3035 and Delphos Eagles Aerie 471, where she cherished the friendships and memories made over the years.
Those who knew Becky will remember her radiant spirit and love for life. She found joy in the simple things—sitting in the sun, planting flowers, spending long afternoons at the pool with friends, or cruising around on a golf cart, taking in the fresh air. She loved traveling with Tim, taking yearly trips together until their grandchildren came along; from then on, she preferred the joy of home and family over any destination.
Becky’s warmth, laughter, and selfless love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 11, at 2:00 PM at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Delphos Wesleyan Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
