Robert E. Sloan, 89, of Delphos, passed away November 19, 2021, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1932, to Arthur J. and Alice K. (Cluff) Sloan.   They both preceded him in death. On February 5, 1954, he was united in marriage to Monica Fiedler. She preceded him in death in 2015.

Robert is survived by his son, Nick (Lisa) Sloan of Delphos; a daughter, Helen (Bill) Hurley of Delphos; a daughter-in-law, Julie Sloan of Delphos; nine grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by his sons, James and Robert Sloan; brothers, Edwin and Richard Sloan, sisters,  Naomi Dible and Betty Jordan, and a daughter-in-law, Betty Sloan. 

Robert was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos.  He retired from New Delphos Manufacturing.  Robert always enjoyed traveling to Michigan, and especially loved watching the boats go thru the canals while there.    

Funeral services will be held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.  Father Albert Beltz will officiate.  Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021, at the funeral home.  Memorial Contribution may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
