Robert A. Parsons, Sr.

Robert A. Parsons, Sr., 85, of Delphos, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s. He was born September 2, 1937, in Delphos, to Melvin and Doris (Lucas) Parsons. They both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Patty L. Miller. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2008.

Robert is survived by a son, Robert (Linda) Parsons, Jr., of Russellville, TN; two daughters, Debra (John) Wade of Delphos and Jody Lee Parsons of Delphos; two brothers, Melvin Jr. and Michael (Judy) Parsons; one sister, Janet (Dick) Fiedler; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Heather, Andrea, Brandon, Jeremy, Jessica, Kirenda, Kayla and Lakishia; 13 great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Shirley Parsons.

Robert was also preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert, Milton, and Cletus, Sr. Parsons; three sisters, Patricia Parsons, Beatrice Parsons, and Mary Downey; and sister-in-law, Loretta Parsons.

Robert retired from Fruehauf after 20 years. He was a charter member of the Delphos Bass Club and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. Robert loved to aggravate people; it was his way of showing that he liked you. He would give you the shirt off his back and help in any way.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
