Robert J. “Bob” Roth, 70, passed away on March 2, 2023, at Memorial Hospital in Lima. He was born on May 12, 1952, in Youngstown to Robert and Harriet (Stephenson) Roth. They both preceded him in death. Bob considered himself very lucky to have been raised by his parents who loved him and taught him well. He was also honored to have a step mother, Deborah A. Roth who survives in Alabama. He loved and respected her as a friend.
Bob leaves behind four children, Jennifer (Petey) Porter, Holly (Kevin) White, Tyler Roth, and Billy (Britni) Roth. He felt lucky to have such great kids and “kids-in-law.” He also felt blessed to have the best ten grandkids, Quinton, Anthony, Zandor, Rylan, Jillian, Kalli, Corbett, Kennadee, Evann, and Cooper. Also, one great grand daughter, Evelyn. He also leaves behind “adopted” daughters, Marisa Davis and Krissy Waldron, and their families; a sister, Cheryl Roth, whom he adored. He said that God sent him an angel in her; two brothers, Jason (Dr. Nicole) Roth and their family, Joseph (Kristy) Roth and their family. He also leaves behind his ex-wife, who was his loving friend and soul mate, Roberta Young.
Bob graduated from Jackson-Milton High School in 1970. He was a member of First Federated Church in North Jackson, OH. He lived in many different states and cities before meeting and marrying his wife, Roberta. They did not stay married, but they remained great friends and raised their children together. After his divorce, Bob moved to Arizona and California living and learning to love himself and the world around him. He moved back to his family in Ohio in 2003. Bob worked for Compass Recovery Center in Ravenna Ohio before retiring. He was involved with Easy Street Productions which is a theatre company in Youngstown. He was a movie buff and also loved to travel and gamble.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, OH. Pastor Steve Haddix will officiate. A memorial visitation will be held that same day from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
