Robert J. "Joe" Schier

Robert J. “Joe” Schier, 76, of Paulding, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Paulding County Hospital.

Joe was born on January 11, 1949, to the late Robert and Evelyn Schier (née Belmore). He spent over 30 years raising veal calves, a career that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication to farming. After retiring, Joe continued working alongside his oldest son, Eric, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, Ohio, where he enjoyed meeting and connecting with many new people.

Joe was deeply devoted to his family. He loved coaching his sons’ baseball teams and could often be found spending summers at the ball fields. He especially cherished fishing trips to Canada with his boys and adoring time spent with his grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cheryl Schier (née Davis); his sons, Eric (Sarah) Schier and AJ (Allison) Schier; and his beloved grandchildren, Joey, Wesley, Grace, Ava, and Sydney. Also surviving are numerous nephews and one niece.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with services to follow, at DenHerder Funeral Home, 1000 W. Wayne St., Paulding, Ohio.
Burial will be held privately at St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding, Ohio.

Joe will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, love of baseball, and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
