Roger E. Ulm, 76, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at his residence. He was born on September 23, 1943, in Lima, to Joseph and Ruth (Teman) Ulm; both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage on January 15, 1966, to Charlotte Rayman. She survives in Delphos. They were married for 54 years.
He is also survived by three children, Michael Ulm of Delphos, Jennifer (Randy) Teman of Middle Point, and Roger (Mandy) Ulm II of Venedocia; five grandchildren, Brooke, Ashley, and Andrew Teman, and Drew and Logan Ulm; two brothers, Joseph (Karen) Ulm of Delphos, and Ronald (Cathy) Ulm of Spencerville; and two brothers in law, Tom (Sara) Rayman and Ben (Pat) Rayman, all of Van Wert.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Michael Ulm.
Roger was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Black Swamp Rifle Pistol Club and the Delphos Sportsman Club. He worked for his father at Joe Ulm construction who built Sarah Jane Living Center. They also built and remodeled homes. After this, he worked at Ford from where he retired.
Roger was an outdoorsman. He loved driving his jeep, a Renegade, CJ-5 series. He also loved to fish. Roger enjoyed crushing aluminum cans and donating the pop tabs to help support the Ronald McDonald House charity; he collected coins, and loved his CB where his handle was “Renegader.” He liked listening to music on his iPad. He enjoyed artists such as, Waylon Jennings, Box Car Willie, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Hank Williams.
His funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home with burial to follow on St. John Cemetery. Fr. Dennis Walsh will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home where a Parish Wake will be held at 7:30.
