Ruth Ann (Plescher) Calvelage

Ruth Ann Calvelage, age 93, passed away at St. Rita’s Medical Center, October 23, 2025, at 6:10 AM. She was born February 8, 1932, at home in Ottoville, to John and Susan

(Bohn) Plescher. Both preceded her in death.  Ruth was united in marriage to Louis Calvelage and celebrated 61 years of wedded bliss. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2010.

Ruth is survived by one son, Frank (Gwen) Calvelage of Port Charlotte, Florida; three grandchildren, Leslie (Kevin) Looser, Jon (Libby) Schram, and Matthew (Jackie) Schram; and three great grandchildren, Olivia, Damon, and Xander.

 Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her son, Lewis Calvelage; two daughters, Pam Rode and  Judy Schram; and four siblings, Robert, Art, Mary Plescher, and Rita Schmitz.

Ruth Ann was a home-maker and a farmer’s wife, helping out on the farm most of her life.  She was a 1950 high school graduate of Frog Town.  She was a member of St. John Evangelist Catholic Church and a past member of the Delphos Eagles # 471.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.  There will be a Memorial Service immediately following the memorial viewing at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
