Ruth Ella Moreo

Ruth Ella Moreo, 91, of Delphos, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Vancrest of Delphos. Ruth was born on November 29, 1929, to Guy and Alta (Pangle) Matson.  On September 9, 1952, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Lee Moreo who preceded her in death on January 15, 2006.   

Ruth is survived by three sons, Terry (Phyllis Grothous) Moreo, Dave (Ann Rose) Moreo both of Delphos, and Donald Moreo of Bluffton, SC; a daughter Pamela Stratton-Rowland of Delphos; brother Michael (Denise Weaver) Matson of Findlay; five grandchildren, Christine Yenser, Lyndsey Moreo, Carie Martz, Jamie Niemberg, and Jesse Stratton; and she was blessed with 6 great-grandchildren, all the joy of her life. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Dale Matson and a sister Marjorie Eiterman; two infant sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Clarice Moreo. 

Ruth was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Delphos.  She was a graduate of Delphos Jefferson.  She was secretary with the Peoples National Bank of Delphos and a long time secretary for Moreo Brothers Roofing and Spouting, Inc.  She was a dedicated homemaker and mother, and especially grandmother, giving much love to her grandchildren.  She enjoyed sewing and especially crochet, making items for her church’s bazaar.

Funeral Services will be held at Harter and Schier Funeral Home on Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11:00 a.m.   Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church.
