Sharon L. Coil

Sharon L. Coil, 76, of Van Wert, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at The Meadows of Delphos. She was born August 1, 1944, in Wapakoneta, OH, to Theodore and Helena (Rickert) Erb. They preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Marvin Coil on May 9, 1964. He survives in Van Wert.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Greg (Cindy) Coil, of Woodbine, MD, and Trent (Carrie) Coil, of Decatur, IN; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; her brothers, Dave, Mike and Steve Erb; and her sisters, Patricia Randall and Janet Erb.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Roger, Ted, Fred, Tom, Charlie and Jim Erb; and her sisters, Jean Price, Gloria Paxson, and Kate Meckstroth.

Sharon is a graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Class of 1962. She was a member of the Van Wert American Legion Auxiliary Post 178. Sharon retired from GE in Ft. Wayne after 19 years and was a homemaker, also. Sharon loved camping in Minnesota, in the forest by the lake. She loved fresh fish cooked over an open fire. She enjoyed taking road trips and not knowing where they were going.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 9, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, OH. Burial will take place in Wright Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
