Sharon M. Miller, 74, of Delphos, passed away 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s. She was born May 12, 1947, in Van Wert, OH, to Richard Sr. and Ruth (Granger) Stump. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Merle Miller on October 30, 1965. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1997. Sharon had a very special friend, Barry Warnecke, for many years after her husband died. He also preceded her in death on February 2, 2010.
Sharon is survived by her daughters, Christina (Karl Placke) Gaugler of Delphos, and Jennifer (Derek) Wehinger of Spencerville; her brother, Richard (Paula) Stump, Jr.; four grandchildren: Jessica Miller, Taylor Gaugler, Jarrod Wehinger, and Blake Miller; four great-grandchildren: Christian Dove, Elijah Stolzenburg, Avery Pimentel, and Jackson Pimental; nephews, Richard Stump and Aaron Stump; and Barry’s daughters, Missy (Shannon) Wagoner and Nichole Warnecke both of Delphos.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, Steven and William “Bill” Miller.
Sharon was a graduate of Van Wert High School, Class of 1965, first class in the new building. She was also a graduate of the Apollo School of Practical Nursing. She received her Associates Degree in Nursing at Lima Technical College. She then obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Defiance College. She worked at Lima Memorial Hospital as a RN for most of her career but had worked for several other places. After retiring, she worked as a traveling nurse. She was the current President of the Delphos American Legion Post #268, member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471 and Delphos VFW Post #3035. Her life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and watching a good parade.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos, OH. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
