Sierra Sue Foust, 80, of Elida, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born December 28, 1942, in Lima, OH to Admiral Dewey and Juanita Lucille (Mack) Mell. They both preceded her in death. On January 27, 1963, she was united in marriage to Charles Foust. He survives in Elida.
Sierra is survived by son, Greg (Charis) Foust of Elida; daughter, Cynthia (Brian) Henry of Columbus; five grandchildren, Mallory (David) Segovia of Lima, Holly (Nick) Galvin of Lima, Jacob (Lacey) Foust of St. Johns, Aiden Henry, and Erin Henry both of Columbus; and nine great-grandchildren.
Sierra was also preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Dewey Mell; and sisters, Shirley Lentz and Miriam Delgado.
Sierra worked as a cashier and took care of the toy department at Kmart. She also worked at WT Grants and Olan Mills. She was a member of the Bluelick Bible Church and Allen County Historical Society. Sierra was very proud of the home they lived in a registered, 100-year-old farm. She had a special interest in genealogy and would take gravestone rubbings. Sierra enjoyed taking daily long car rides throughout the countryside. She was a caregiver to her father until his passing. Sierra enjoyed going to Three Rivers, MI, staying in their mobile home on St. Joe’s River where she could fish for largemouth bass.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
