Susan (Odenweller) Von Lehmden

Susan B. (Odenweller) Von Lehmden, 85, of Delphos, passed away on February 15, 2023, at Vancrest of Delphos. She was born September 16, 1937, in Ottoville, OH, to Beatrice (Young) and Thomas Odenweller. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on January 20, 1978, to Elmer Von Lehmden, who passed away in 2004.

Susan is survived by her two sons, Josh (Michelle) Von Lehmden of Waterville, OH, and Dan (Maria) Von Lehmden of Stuart, Florida; a daughter, Dr. Sarah (Dr. Dan) Flora of Cincinnati, OH; her brother, Roger Odenweller of Shelbyville, KY; and seven grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas, Seth, Mya, Owen, Lizzie, and Allie.

She was preceded in death by her brother Richard Odenweller.

Susan graduated from St. Rita’s Medical Center School of nursing, where she became a registered nurse. She served in the Air Force as a nurse and was stationed in Japan during the Vietnam War. Susan worked as a nurse for Van Wert Hospital and Vancrest Nursing Home and was a hospice and visiting nurse. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings. Susan was also a member of the Peace Corps, serving in Columbia teaching nursing. She always had a sense of adventure. Susan loved traveling and even got on a ship herself and traveled to Europe. She loved to play cards with her cousins and classmates. Susan was involved with her children’s activities and was their biggest fan at their sporting events.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings, OH, on Monday, February 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home and 1 hr before mass at the church. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ft. Jennings.
