Thomas H. Trentman, 82, of Delphos, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Rita’s. He was born in Landeck, to Hilary and Martha (Gengler) Trentman on December 10, 1938. They both preceded him in death. On May 6, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jane Burgei. She survives in Delphos. They recently celebrated sixty years of marriage.
Thomas is also survived by four sons, Larry Trentman of Delphos, Dennis (Laura) Trentman of Delphos, Michael Trentman of Delphos, and Randy (Gail) Trentman of New Bremen; brothers Merlin (Dorothy) Trentman of Landeck, Robert (Suzanne) Trentman of Delphos; three sisters, Norene Murphy of Lancaster, Mary Loraditch of Akron, and Rose Etgen of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Trentman, Sarah (Matt Omlor) Trentman, Shonda (Nick) Terrazas, Richard Cocuzza, Riley, Ava, and Neven Trentman; two great-grandchildren, Julian and Amelia Terrazas.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Virginia Nichols and Lois Luersman; sister-in-law, Pat Trentman, and brothers-in-law, Paul Murphy, Andy Loraditch, and Norm Etgen.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 1362, the UAW local 1219, and the Farm Bureau.
Thomas enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s sporting events. He was a fan of the Buckeyes, Cavaliers, and Indians. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2004. He had also worked at Clark Equipment and the family farm where he did a lot of custom silo filling for local farmers in Spencerville, Landeck, Delphos, Fort Jennings and Kalida areas.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2021, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A Parish Wake will be held at 7:30 on Friday with Rosary at 7:00.
