Tommy R. Kohorst, 70, of Delphos, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born February 11, 1952, in Delphos, OH, to Harold “George” and Laurietta (Diltz) Kohorst. Both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Barbara “Bobbie” Lucas on May 13, 1971, and recently celebrated 51 years together. She survives in Delphos.
Tommy is also survived by his daughter, Kim (Greg) Bickford of Mt. Blanchard, OH; a granddaughter, Sydney Bickford; a sister, Bonnie (Jim) Fuerst, of Columbus Grove; and a brother, Gerald (Inice) Kohorst of Mendon, OH.
Tommy was preceded in death by a son, T.J.; a sister, Cora (Rodger) Saum; and his mother and father-in-law, N.W. “Bill” and Barbara Lucas.
Tommy was a machine repairman working for Fruehauf Axle Plant. He also worked at Dana Corporation until his retirement two years ago. He made a lot of his own tools and was still getting calls to help fix things. Tommy was a member of the Delphos Coon & Sportsman Club, Delphos Eagles Aerie #471, and UAW Local 1765. He enjoyed collecting guns, hunting, and rescuing Dalmatians.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
