Vickie Sue Lause, 62, of Delphos, passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021, at St Rita’s Mercy Health. She was born on June 10, 1958, to Franklin and Lula (Mullen) Rigdon. Her mother preceded her in death; her father survives in Elgin. On June 28, 1980, she was united in marriage to Steve Lause. He survives in Delphos.
Vickie is also survived by a son, Derek (Mariah) Lause of San Angelo, TX; two grandchildren, Oliver and Evelynn; a sister, Karen (Rick) Hedrick of Van Wert; and a brother, Frank Rigdon Jr. of Tomah WI.; two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Jeff) Mohler of Delphos and Kathy Gerdeman of Ft. Jennings, and several nieces and nephews. Vickie also leaves behind her beloved dog, Dixie.
Vickie graduated from Delphos Jefferson in 1976. She was very well known from working at local businesses. She worked at the former Alco/Vals and Hobby Lobby, and she currently worked at Chief and was a teller at First Financial Bank. Her customers were always greeted with a smile and conversation. Vickie enjoyed quilting, making purses, wallets and pillows. She was very artistic. Painting was also a talent of hers as art was a passion, and she was very talented at it. She also loved to read and do puzzles.
Memorial visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Rev. Steve Haddix will officiate.
