Virgil J. Tarango

Virgil J. Tarango, 57, of Delphos, passed away Monday, August 14, 2023, at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born January 22, 1966, in Oakland, CA, to Roberto and Virginia (DeGuero) Tarango. They both preceded him in death. On September 29, 2001, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Schlatman and they had 21 very happy years together. She survives in Delphos.

Virgil is also survived by stepson, Andy Kohorst; brothers, Robert (Laurie) Tarango of San Lorenzo, CA and Ruben Tarango of Liberty, IN; sisters, Cyndi (Randy) Bloomer of Olathe, KS, Pauline (Ken) Sparks of Liberty, IN, and Julia (Wayne) Conley of Lynn, IN; sisters-in-law, Lynda Reynolds-Fair of Delphos and Mary Schlatman-Combs of Van Wert; brothers-in-law, Dave Schlatman of Van Wert and Chuck Schlatman of Delphos; Virgil was close to his great-nephew Ryan Wittler Fair, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, and sister-in-law, Sally Jo Schlatman-Riggs.

Virgil worked at P & G. He enjoyed any kind of music and trivia. Virgil could identify any singer, band, and/or song.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Haddix will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home.
