Virginia A (Sheeter) Martin

Virginia “Ginger” Martin, 76, of Delphos, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center.  She was born November 7, 1949, in Lima, OH to Donald “Don” and Delores “Dolly” (Markward) Sheeter. They preceded her in death. Ginger was united in marriage to Anthony “Tony” Martin on June 22, 1968. He passed away on February 14, 2021.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Cross of Delphos; two grandsons, Ryan Sevitz and Kaden Cross; one great-granddaughter, Avonelle “Abby” Sevitz; and two brothers, Gary (Becky) Sheeter of Spencerville and Paul Sheeter of Delphos.

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one daughter, Julie Martin; two sisters, Diane Pavel and Carol Calvelage. 

Ginger was a member of the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471 and past member of Delphos VFW Post 3035.  She worked as a floral designer for many of the florists in the area, including Fettigs, Frontier, and Ivy Hutch.  Ginger graduated from Ross High School, but most of her schooling was at Delphos St. John’s.  She enjoyed creating flower arrangements, fishing and hunting with her husband, and traveling all across the United States while doing so.  Ginger also enjoyed a good family get together.  

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ginger’s family.
