Warren Lee Stemen

Warren Lee Stemen, 91, of Elida, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 17, 1930, at home in Allen County, to Merle G. and Edna (Brenneman) Stemen. They preceded him in death. He was united in marriage in November of 1952 to Margaret Brunk, recently celebrating 69 years of marriage. She survives in Elida.

Warren is survived by his children, Debra (Michael) Crites, Carol Stemen, and Jerry (Melissa) Stemen all of Elida, Robert (Karen) Stemen of Summerfield, NC, and Gene (Jennifer) Stemen of Delphos; grandchildren: Nick, Anthony, and Gary Crites; Ryan and Shaun Stemen; Amanda (Trent) Townsend, Danielle, Chantal, Natalie Stemen; and Brooke, Sydney, Taylor, Luke and Logan Stemen; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dale and John; sisters, Marian Crisenbery and Anna Good.

Warren was the owner of Stemen’s Carpet, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Pike Mennonite Church. He enjoyed restoring and selling antique cars, selling them all over the country. He played softball his entire life and continued playing in an over 80’s league in Florida. He also sponsored many softball teams over the years. He was very fond of wintering and vacationing in Florida for almost 60 years. He was a faithful and loyal servant of God and to all people. He was very vocal about his faith to proclaim the goodness of God and the power of redemption through Jesus Christ, which was evident in his life. Psalm 104:33 “I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live. I will sing praise to my God while I have my being”.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Pike Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in Pike Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Pike Mennonite Church.
