William “Bill” N. Mullenhour, 93, of Delphos, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s with his loving son by his side. He was born January 12, 1929, at home in Allen County, OH to Harry and Grace (Patton) Mullenhour. They both preceded him in death, as well as, his brother, Bob Mullenhour. On August 21, 1949, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Helen Himmeger. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2018.
He is survived by his son, Bill (Bonnie) Mullenhour of Delphos; his daughter, Debbie (Carl) Nenadal of Twinsburg; five grandchildren, Kyle (Katie), Kory (Tamara), and Kayla Mullenhour, Brent (April) Nenadal and Erin (Ryan) Tong; and seven great-grandsons, Austin, Barrett, Oliver, Simon, Kelton, Koyd, and Lucas; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Bill was a stock boy at A & P Grocery store in Lima. He worked his way up through the ranks becoming the Meat Manager. He was in charge of purchasing sides of beef and hand-cutting it. He loved telling stories for hours about his work there. He worked at the Bluffton and Van Wert stores finally retiring from Bluffton. He also worked for many years for ODOT and retired as district welder earning a Certificate of Merit from the Governor of Ohio for creating the “Mule”. Bill was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, formerly known as EUB, and Zion Methodist Church, the Silver Sneakers, and the Delphos Eagles Aerie #471. He enjoyed reupholstering furniture and teaching others how to do it. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, cars, camping but most of all spending time with his family. They were the most important thing to him and being a friend to whomever he met. He had a warm, friendly, infectious smile and was a gentle soul. He will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
