I worked with one of Docs sons (Donnie) in Columbus. We became very good friends and was invited to a hog roast at the Vonderwells. I met Doc at his house in the kitchen the day before the pig roast. I asked Doc where I should go to get a hotel room in town. Doc slowly reached into his pocket, pulled out a local hotel room key and tossed it to me. I asked him what I owed him for the room, his response "Just be here in the morning and bring an appetite". He was fixing breakfast for everyone.
A true gentleman and wonderful man who left an unforgettable memory with me.
Condolences to the family.

Dr. Clete was such a creative and giving person(soul). I am forever changed through the veterinary knowledge that he shared with me. I am so sorry he died. My condolences to Mary and the family.

I will never forget when he gave my son his donkey. My son's horse had died an he said young man I will sell you this donkey for free and if you get tired of him just bring him back. Well my son was about 8 years old an Adam is now 21 years old and still has Pedro the donkey. Most kids comes home with puppies and kittens mine comes with a donkey. Thank you Doc he has been Adam's forever friend.
