Opal Naomi Fry

Opal Naomi Fry, 88, of Delphos passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Vancrest Healthcare Center in Delphos. She was born February 9, 1929, in Paulding County to Henry J. and Maud E. (Ashenfelter) Stahl. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Nelson on September 24, 1946, he survives in Delphos. She is survived by her husband, Nelson of 70 years; two daughters, Bonnie (Don) Brandyberry of Newport News, VA and Cathy Kelly (Sybert) of Delphos; five grandchildren, Kim Adams of Madison, AL, Jenna (Mike) Payne of Yorktown, VA, Amy Stalbosky of Panama City Beach, FL, and Chery Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta, OH, and five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Matthew Adams of Madison, AL, Justyn Hasenkamp of Wapakoneta, OH, Savannah and Michael Payne of Yorktown, VA; sister, Coral Cocke of Hicksville, OH; numerous nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Bernice Dunn. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Isaac, Woodrow, Henry, and George Stahl; five sisters, Ida Moore, Alice Straley, Wilma Porter, Helen Stahl, and Maxine Stahl; son-in-law, Larry Sybert; and grandson-in-law, Nate Adams. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church in Grover Hill, Christian Union Church in Delphos, was very active in the Mary Martha Class, and the Ladies Aid Society. Opal was a house wife who was known for her baking and one of her pumpkin pies sold for $300 at a charity auction. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Funeral services will be on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. with calling one hour prior to the service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Grover Hill. Friends may call on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church's World Vision Program or Christian Union Church.
