Peggy Sue (Bockey) Adams, 58, of Delphos was called home to be with the Lord and Savior, Monday, September 11, 2017, due to a tragic car accident while she was vacationing with her husband Jack in Ireland.
She was born September 23, 1958, in Lima to Ralph L. and Beverly J. (Sawmiller) Bockey. Her father preceded her in death and her mother resides in Spencerville. She was united in marriage to Jack Adams, who survives in Delphos.
She is survived by a son, Tyler (Laura Lasonczyk) Lamb of Pickerington, OH; daughters, Kacy (Shawn) Goetz of Lima, and Holly (Daniel) Ackerman of Virginia; a stepdaughter, Natalie (Tony) Doll of Killeen, TX; a stepson, Jackson (Kimberly) Adams of New Mexico; a brother, Kevin Bockey of Spencerville, two sisters, Janice (Bill) Askins of Ft. Jennings, and Tereasa (William) Jamison of Hilliard, OH; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Bockey.
Peggy had a Master Degree in Nursing and was retired from the Ohio
Dept. of Rehabilitation and Correction. After retirement she became the Director of The Tiffin Developmental Center and the Director of Family Promise in Lima.
She was a devout spirit- filled Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart. She was a past Sunday School teacher, the current treasurer at the First Assembly of God Church in Delphos where she and her husband worshipped. Peggy had a huge heart, and her life revolved around helping other people and volunteering wherever she was needed. She loved her neighbors and their children, often baking cookies and cupcakes with them. She was known for her random acts of kindness.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 11:00 am at First Assembly of God Church in Delphos with viewing one hour prior at the church and burial following the service at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Pastor Fred Rowe will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 2:00-8:00 pm at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.
