Kenneth L. Rozell, 86, of Elida, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Joann's Hospice House in Bonita, Florida. He was born June 7, 1930, in Lamars, Iowa to Emory and Gladys (Avery) Rozell. Both preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Thelma Stuller on December 18, 1952. He then married Carol "Sue" (Jones) Lybarger on November 4, 1995, she survives in Elida. He is survived by a son, Dennis Rozell of DeForest, WI; a daughter, Janine (Greg) Ladd of Elida; two sisters, Joyce (Herbert "Dave") Davis of Maryland and Deloris Schroeder of Nebraska; three grandchildren, Tyler and Spencer Ladd and Cayti (Dustin) Stechschulte; and was recently promoted to great-grandpa with the birth of Gabriel Stechschulte; four step-children, Mike (Diana) Lybarger of Estero, FL, Don (Linda) Lybarger of Elida, Jenny (Tony) Ciminillo of Elida, and Lori (Jeff) Brenneman of Delphos; and many step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Lima and was also in the Air Force. He was hired at the chemical plant in Lima on October 3, 1955 after answering an ad in Omaha, Nebraska while working at an ammonia plant for Allied Chemical. Ken came to Lima with several others from Nebraska to start up the original ammonia plant here in Lima, retiring from Standard Oil Chemical, on Aril 1, 1986. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved being outdoors. He was always willing to help anyone in need and could fix anything. Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Joe Wassink will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, March 24, 2017, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gabriel's college fund.
